Event description

Description

Do you want to supply to organisations in the aid sector?

Are you confused by all the jargon?

Do you want to feel more confident about the basics of the international aid system?

If so, this free webinar is for you.

Aid Works believe that greater diversity in the sector will improve the delivery of aid. Inspired by DFID Procurement’s push to attract more external, SME suppliers from outside of London, we are running this free webinar introduction to the basics of the international aid system.

Our Directors and Associates all have over ten years experience in development and humanitarian contexts. They have worked for charities, UN agencies, fund managers and private sector firms. Aid Works itself is an SME and a DFID supplier.

By attending this webinar, you will be able to:

· Describe the difference between humanitarian and development work

· Understand some of the common jargon used in the sector

· Describe the basics of international aid architecture

· Explain the different types of stakeholders and the connections between them

To make the webinar as practical and useful for you as possible, we will also present:

· Two cases studies of commercial contracts

· Our top tips for resources and lessons learnt from the sector

This event is free, as part of Aid Works' ‘Get the North to the South’ programme.
