Event description

Description

Becoming a DIY writer is about developing children as imaginative and self-reliant authors. Knowing how to support children in this process can make them more confident and able writers.

This workshop is a great opportunity for teaching assistants and other support staff to learn strategies to support individuals and groups to make progress in writing and learn ideas to win over reluctant writers. You will be able to use what you learn to better support children in class and lead more effective writing intervention groups!

In this practical workshop, staff will:
• learn practical techniques for helping children make progress in writing
• explore the key processes for teaching and supporting creative writing
• learn how to explore themes and ideas in high-quality texts

Attendees will also get free teaching materials and resources to support this work in their schools!
