Support for Maths Educators in Yorkshire Webinar
Overview
Join us for a session designed to showcase the breadth of support available from MEI (Mathematics in Education and Industry)—a national charity dedicated to improving maths education for all.
The session will be led by Martin Newton, who is an experienced FE and adult learning practitioner and leader.
Martin has worked for many years in FE, he is Assistant Director for Adult Mathematics at MEI, and he has vast experience in maths education in the FE sector.
Session overview
This session will include a hands-on activity typical of the CPD, coaching, and mentoring support MEI offers, giving you a real taste of our approach to professional development.
We’ll explore two key areas of our work:
Fully Funded Support for 16–19 Maths in FE Colleges
- Discover how MEI can help statutory FE colleges enhance their maths provision through tailored, funded support.
- Find out about the FE Maths Challenge, a competition for 16-19 students that don’t yet have a grade 4 or above at GCSE maths
Support for Teachers of Maths to Adults in Any Setting
- Whether you're working in FE, Local Authorities, Independent Training Providers, secure settings, community learning, apprenticeships, or work-based learning, MEI offers expert guidance and resources to support your learners and staff.
This is a great opportunity to connect, ask questions, and find out how MEI can work with your organisation to raise the quality and confidence of maths teaching across the region.
Who should attend?
Leaders, managers, and practitioners involved in maths delivery to post-16 learners in any context.
I’ve also attached a slide that can be used on your portal for people to link to much of the work that we do at MEI in the post 16 area.
