Event description

Description

Parenting can be hard, but parenting a child with special educational needs brings parenting to a different level. Let’s face it, SEN parents are awesome.

Monthly Topic: Consequences & Discipline

Whether or not your child has been formally diagnosed with Austim, ASD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ADD, ADHD, this is for everybody who wants to feel supported, inspired and optimistic no matter what you are going through!…

Refreshment will be provided

These events are run by Mette Theilmann of Parenting Success alongside wellbeing coach and Empowering Learning Practitioner, Natalie Sutton - both of whom have special needs children of their own and believe in paying forward what they have learned. After all, all the research supports the fact that the experiences of SEN parents are highly valued by other SEN parents.

Structured but very informal and friendly, come along to score some unique nuggets and take-aways. We will explore how food affects a SEN child (and our own ability to cope) and look at everyday tools that will help our SEN children to feel happy, Independent and confident. This short workshop style session will include handouts and real-world techniques that work such as grounding, 'what makes my child special', language and re-framing the negatives, energy flows where focus goes, a ME board, boosting self-esteem, catching the good.

Look out for our future SEN events - Effective Communication, The Food-Behaviour Connection, Rules, Routine & Discipline, Concequences & Screen Time.
