Support to Understand your Money (SUM) - CPD Training Events

The Financial Inclusion BBO funded programme "Support to Understand your Money" (SUM) provides a training schedule supporting the delivery and facilitation of workshops identified on the programme delivery model. These workshops are available to all Support Workers.
The schedule below provides information on the first tranche of CPD related activity that will be available. We will be facilitating additional workshops subject to requirements.

Project Paperwork - Fri, 30 Sep & 07 Oct 10:00-13:00
To support those who will be working with participants and will cover project paperwork.
Mentor Training - Mon, 17 Oct 10:00-16:30
To discover the skills to support participants on their journey. Covering purpose of mentoring, boundaries, dependency, communication, data protection and mental health awareness.
Your Benefits - Mon, 31 Oct 10:00-16:00
Attendees will be taken through the materials to deliver the workshop themselves. This is a ‘train the trainer’ session. Modules: Understanding the Benefits System, Understanding your benefits and Checking your Benefits.
Managing Money - Mon, 14 Nov 10:00-16:00
Attendees will be taken through the materials to deliver the workshop themselves. This is a ‘train the trainer’ session. Modules: Introduction to Budgeting and Managing Your Budget.
Introduction to IT - Tue, 29 Nov 10:00-16:00
Attendees will be taken through the materials to deliver the workshop themselves. This is a ‘train the trainer’ session. Modules: TBC
Employability Skills - Tue, 13 Dec 10:00-16:00
Attendees will be taken through the materials to deliver the workshop themselves. This is a ‘train the trainer’ session. Modules CV & Cover Letters and Job Search (covers looking for, applying for and interview skills)
Travel Planning - Tue, 20 Dec 14:00-16:00
A workshop to support customers with organising their travel.
Places are available on a first come first served basis however will initially be capped at 2 places per organisation. Any organisation wishing to nominate more than 2 support workers for the training have been asked to contact Chris Cooper directly where names are being collated for tranche 2. Dates will then be made available..
Pre Course Work: we ask that you become familiar with the PowerPoint presentations and Session Plans which will be sent to you before the workshop. These programmes run as train the trainer events and run over one day so having an understanding of the workshop contents in advance will be of benefit to you. In addition, all other programme forms are on the site so if you have time you could make yourself familiar with them.
