About this event

  • 5 hours

Finding the right place for your relative to live outside the family home can be daunting. How do you know what is available? How do you go about finding the right place. At todays event we will hear from a number of family carers who have gone down different paths to find the right supported living opportunity for their relative. You will have the opportunity to ask them questions and hear about the pros and cons.

You will also get the chance to hear from and meet with some support providers who provide support across Oxfordshire. What is important when considerning a new housemate? How do support providers work out the support when there are a number of people living in the house? What should families be considering when looking at supported living?

We hope to also include a session on signing tenancies and what you need to do if your relative does not have capacity to sign their own agreement. (We are trying to finalise this).

Organised by

Oxfordshire Family Support Network (OxFSN) is a not-for-profit organisation run by and for family carers of people with learning disabilities – both children and adults.

We were set up in 2007 by family carers who wanted to use their experience to help others in the same situation, based on our belief that family carers are experts by experience.
