Supported Practice Day, Summer (Saturday)
Saturday, 1 July 2017 from 09:30 to 16:30
A quiet, peaceful day, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, where course participants can explore and deepen their mindfulness meditation practice.
Day Retreat Overview
On this practice day we work with the five hindrances to meditation - aptly called Grabby, Grumpy, Sleepy, Jumpy and Maybe*. Not a remodelling of the seven dwarves, but attitudes that can distract us in our meditation practice, or prevent us from sitting in the first place. We use some exercises to reflect on how we can turn towards these distractions and work with them, as well as guided meditations, discussion, feedback and relaxation. It provides an ideal opportunity to:
- Set aside some time to relax, refresh and rejuvenate yourself
- Deepen your meditation practice and strengthen the skills learnt during your course
- Enjoy some simple and effective mindful movement exercises
- Develop skills to use in your daily life to help you become and remain calm, aware, focused and energised
