Online: Supporting Anxiety in Children and Young People

About this event

By the end of this session, you will:

• Understand the term ’anxiety’;

• Understand the body’s natural response to anxiety;

• Recognise presentations of anxiety in children and young people;

• Learn practical strategies to help children and young people manage stress and anxiety appropriately;

• Feel confident in creating a care plan and know when you should seek further professional help in relation to unresolved anxiety which is impacting day to day activities.

Summary:

Professionals involved with the care of children and young people need to be better able to identify the signs of anxiety and many cases may be undetected.

This training day will consider the presentations and impact that this condition has upon young people and their families, and how to recognise a problem as it presents itself. The session will outline best practice advice on the care of children and young people and provide you with practical strategies to help children and young people to understand and manage stress and anxiety appropriately.

Who can access this training?

All Sheffield professionals working with children and young people are welcome to access our CAMHS training for free.

Please note: If you are a professional not working in Sheffield, we'd love to have you join us for our sessions! A fee of £100 per day will be charged once you have attended the course. This fee will be agreed for half days.
