Event description

Description

Due to popular demand and to celebrate World Autism Week, Disability Support in collaboration with the Learning Teaching Institute, are pleased to announce a further two workshops focusing on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), to be delivered by our very own Jo Sullivan.

Jo Sullivan is a Lecturer in the Faculty of Health and Social Care. She has a specialist interest in Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome and, prior to joining the University, Jo was a Clinical Nurse Specialist for children and young people with ASD and Asperger’s syndrome.

This session builds on some of the core themes introduced in our previous the Autism Spectrum Awareness session held at Warrington in 2016. This session is aimed at all staff who teach and support students with a diagnosis of ASD. The session will provide a brief overview of ASD and gives practical advice about how to support the learning and social needs of students with Autism.
