Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) is an autistic profile characterised by extreme anxiety in response to everyday expectations, whether external or self-imposed. Students with a PDA profile often use creative and complex strategies to avoid demands as a way to manage their anxiety.
This workshop, specifically designed for teachers, combines professional expertise and lived experience to provide an in-depth understanding of PDA. You will explore practical, classroom-focused strategies to create a flexible, supportive learning environment that meets the needs of autistic students with a PDA profile.
We encourage our workshops to be interactive and are keen to discuss and involve people as much as we can. Therefore, due to the nature of this, unfortunately, we are UNABLE to record our workshops due to the privacy and confidentiality of the attendees.
