About this event
We cannot underestimate the impact of pregnancy loss and the death of a baby on parents and the wider family, and on the professionals who care for them. This online training is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills and understanding to provide the best possible care to bereaved parents.
Who is this training for?
This training is suitable for individuals whose work brings them into contact with those affected by pregnancy loss or the death of a baby, for example: health and social care staff, midwives, faith leaders, emergency service personnel, charities.
What will I learn?
During this training, you will:
- Explore the impact on families of pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.
- Gain an understanding of the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that accompany grief.
- Develop your knowledge of practical strategies, and gain greater confidence, in supporting bereaved families.
- Acknowledge the impact of investigative processes on the family.
- Develop an awareness of the challenges of the work and the importance of looking after yourself.
- Receive information about Child Bereavement UK and other support organisations, and resources available.
Before booking on any training, please read our training terms and conditions. We encourage prospective participants to consider their own experience of loss and how it might affect them during training. Our training may not be suited to someone who has experienced a recent bereavement.
