Learn how you can support children and young people who have dyslexia both at home and at school.

About this event

This conference will provide parents and carers with tools to support their children and young people who have dyslexia. The speakers, Sarah Melhuish and Mark Long, are Lead Advisory Teachers in the Somerset Learning Support Team. They have many years experience of helping young people with dyslexia learn to read and spell. They will be sharing their knowledge at this talk and give practical examples.

Dyslexia is known as a specific learning difficulty: a child/student may struggle in school with reading, writing and spelling, and memory. But she or he may be very fluent in speech and have a great imagination.

Reception opens and coffee available from 1pm. Specialist teachers from the Somerset Dyslexia Association will be available to talk to from 1pm and at the end of the conference. SENDIAS and SPCF will also attend.
