National Children’s Bureau, and the Young People’s Health Partnership are hosting this free seminar for voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations working with children and young people. Following the publication of Future in mind in March 2015 this event will:
- Provide an update on the latest developments in the process of transforming child and adolescent mental health services as outlined in Future in Mind.
- Examine VCS organisations’ experience of the transformation agenda especially in relation to resilience, prevention and early intervention, at national and/or local level. It will facilitate VCS practitioners and organisations to reflect on and explore the challenges, opportunities and potential solutions for practice and service developments.
- Consider the experiences, ongoing challenges and future needs of particular groups of children and young people (for example Black, Asian and minority ethnic young people; learning disabled young people with behaviour which challenges; LGBT young people) and the extent to which developments are addressing their needs.
Speakers include: Kathryn Pugh MBE, Children and Young People’s Mental Health Programme Lead, Medical Directorate, NHS England; Emma Rigby CEO, Association for Young People’s Health, representing the Young people’s Health Partnership; Dan Baker, Head of Integrated Youth Services at METRO; and a speaker from the Council for Disabled Children.
This event is hosted as part of NCB and YPHP’s role as Health and Care Voluntary Sector Strategic Partner.
Please note, due to limited space this event is limited to two staff per organisation. If you would like more than two places please contact email@example.com and we will hold the names on a waiting list.
