Event description
This half day training focuses on supporting children with identified speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) in the early years.

About this event

This training is being delivered by the local Children and Family Health Surrey Early Years Speech and Language Therapy team and focuses on supporting children with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) in the early years.

It is open to all Early Years Practitioners in Surrey and is ideal for those who are keyworkers of children with identified SLCN. It is likely that these children will have been referred to, or be known to, the local Early Years Speech and Language Therapy team.

We will cover:

  • The importance of speech, language and communication
  • Overview of different types of speech, language and communication needs (SLCN)
  • Key strategies for supporting children with SLCN
  • Practical activities for supporting children with SLCN
  • Linking in with the local Speech and Language Therapy team

The training will be delivered virtually over Microsoft Teams, details of which will be emailed to you closer to the time. We will be using a range of practical activities and videos to make it as interactive as possible.
