Event description
Are you a professional (schools, health, education & social care) working with children & young people with SEND living in Buckinghamshire?

About this Event

If the answer is yes, then Buckinghamshire Council has an exciting new opportunity for you.

In partnership with colleagues from Health, FACT Bucks and SENDIAS, we will be running FREE training sessions to support those caring for or working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEND) within Buckinghamshire.

This is awareness level training suitable for anyone working within the Buckinghamshire wide system who works directly or indirectly with children and young people. Suitable for people who have not yet had any training around this topic.

At the end of this session participants will:

  • understand the term 'speech, language and communication needs' (SLCN) and some of the specific communication difficulties which are covered by the umbrella term of SLCN.
  • gain a broad overview of the importance of good speech, language and communication development for children and young people.
  • gain a broad understanding of how speech, language and communication skills develop.
  • learn specific strategies which support children and young people with SLCN.
