Event description

Description

The longstanding Defence organisations in England used to support members in everything that would impact their professional standing. Now the English Defence organisations do not support individuals in matters that are non-clinical. While non-clinical matters in employment are provided cover of some sort by the BMA, no one covers this if this goes to the GMC. Traditional defence organisations call such issues matters of “personal conduct” and do not support members in these cases, leaving members for fend for themselves.

Is this ever shrinking model of professional defence adequate, even acceptable? Should doctors not have comprehensive defence?
