Supporting high and low attaining pupils (am session)
This session will take you through strategies to really push the higher attainers in your classroom without moving onto the next topic or lesson.
We will consider how to produce critical thinkers, creative problem solvers and pupils who consider the key structures and connections we can make through the maths in our classroom.
When thinking about how we can support low attaining pupils we will consider the importance of mindset of both pupils and the teacher. We will explore some strategies to develop understanding, improve retention and ultimately enjoyment and achievement in mathematics.
New primary schemes for 2022/23 (pm session)
This session has been updated for 2022/2023 and is designed to support practitioners who want to use our new schemes of learning (V3.0) to teach for deep and lasting understanding, by changing mindsets and building confidence as well as skills.
We explore how the new version of our schemes can be used to support a teaching for mastery approach, looking in detail at everything the schemes provide you. We use practical examples to give you all the guidance and inspiration you need to implement and deliver the new schemes in your classroom. We exemplify how to use our questions effectively in your lessons and how you can use a range of strategies to include all learners.
After this session you will have a deeper understanding of how to effectively use the new White Rose Maths schemes of learning as well as a plethora of practical classroom strategies that you will be excited to try.
