Overview

Online training | 3 hours | Intermediate training

This online training will explore the different ways that men and boys may grieve and some of the common misconceptions and stereotypes, and we will look at ways in which we can frame our bereavement support appropriately.

Who is this training for?

This training is suitable for individuals whose work brings them into contact with grieving men and boys, for example: health and social care staff, faith leaders, emergency services staff, and charities.

What will I learn?

During this training, you will:

  • Increase your awareness of how people respond to loss, death and bereavement.
  • Explore how grief may present in men and boys, and the stereotypes surrounding male grief.
  • Gain a deeper understanding of the theories of loss and grief in relation to men and boys.
  • Develop your knowledge of practical strategies, and gain greater confidence in, supporting bereaved men and boys.
  • Receive information about Child Bereavement UK and other support organisations, and resources available.

Before booking on any training, please read our training terms and conditions. We encourage prospective participants to consider their own experience of loss and how it might affect them during training. Our training may not be suited to someone who has experienced a recent bereavement.
