About this event

Charity & Causes • Healthcare

This free training course is for professionals working with those who are currently or have previously served in the UK Armed Forces, their families and carers - known collectively as the Armed Forces community - and will explore neurodiverse conditions such as Autism, ADHD, Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, and other neurological differences. The aim is to better support those who may have neurodivergent traits (whether diagnosed or suspected) and may face challenges navigating military culture or post-service civilian life.

The two main objectives of this training will be to:

(i) understand neurodiversity

(ii) to understand the impact neurodivergence has on military life

Training will cover the common neurodivergent conditions including how these conditions can manifest in military settings, and explore barriers to diagnosis, access to support and the stigma around neurodiversity in the Armed Forces community. The training has been co-produced with people with lived experience, and is delivered by Dr Louise Roper.
