SUPPORTING PALESTINE, OPPOSING REPRESSION

Why are people from the Hastings area willing to risk arrest and imprisonment for terrorist offences? What happened on the day? Hear too about other roles taken by local activists on the day in the form of welfare and communication support.

Join us to hear the stories and experiences of a diverse group of people from the Hastings area who held up signs to oppose genocide, support direct action for Palestine, and oppose the UK government’s repression of protest. We will hear their reasons for taking part and what they went through on the day.

We recognise that this form of action is not right for everyone. There will be a chance to discuss the other forms of action we can take locally and more widely in solidarity with the people of Palestine, and how we can continue to support each other in activism.

In these heartbreaking times, we hope that this event will be a chance to feel inspired, connected and empowered.

If you want to share your story and have not already been in touch, please direct message, or email info@hastingspalestinecampaign.org.

Note: This event is organised by the Hastings and District Palestine Solidarity Campaign to hear the experiences of local activists. For legal reasons, the event and the group cannot explicitly endorse the Lift the Ban actions or encourage or advise anybody who is considering taking part on October 4th or in future. Therefore, as far as we understand it, you are taking no legal risk in attending this online meeting. If you have further questions about Lift the Ban, please consult the Defend Our Juries website.
