We all heard of Supporting Performance by now, and while we are all working toward our goals, there is still a misty fog surrounding the whole concept of supporting performance.

This workshop was designed to re-start from the basis. It is not a policy on slides, and it is not a way to say we did it all right or wrong. The workshop has been designed with the two concepts of professional development and coaching in mind.

This interactive and fun session is our way to put supporting performance into its appropriate context. So, if you still have doubts on how it works, or if you just want to approach it from a different angle, then come and join us.

We will be talking competency, coaching and mentoring, professional development, but also how to make more sense of our life and work.

This course is aimed at all employees in Bon Accord Care from staff to managers. The workshop will require a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 attendees by session.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

• Explain the concept of professional development;
• Set personal and professional goals;
• Understand and apply the concept of coaching and mentoring;
• Understand the concept of competency.

This workshop is purely based on discussions and reflections of the different concepts presented. It focusses on skills practice and reflection rather than theoretical concepts and will require the participation of all attendees in group work and discussions.
