Description

The National Prison Visitors Centre Steering Group invites you to their

Supporting Prisoners’ Families Conference

9.30 – 16.00 Wednesday 20th June 2018

Prisoners’ families play a central role in a prisoner’s successful rehabilitation but often face practical, financial and emotional difficulties as a result of their family member’s imprisonment. Prison Visitors Centres work to improve the emotional well-being of children affected by parental imprisonment and towards increased quality contact between families and their loved ones in prison.

The National Prison Visitors Centre Steering Group is hosting this conference for professionals involved in supporting prisoners’ families in the voluntary sector, the funding community, the Scottish Prison Service, Social work services, the NHS and statutory services. The conference will offer delegates the opportunity to:

  • Celebrate and share good practice in providing support for prisoners' families
  • Learn about significant developments in Scottish Government and Scottish Prison Service policies relevant to their work
  • Network with other professionals working with families affected by imprisonment
