About this event
This is event is for staff working in Primary Care in Nottingham & Nottinghamshire
Aim of this Event
With CHOL003 and CHOL004 offering a combined 82 QoF points, lipid management if a critical focus for primary care teams and a key part of the NHS long term plan. This session aims to support your learning and move it so that you feel more confident to implement and manage the more difficult cases in practice.
Target Audience
All clinicians who have experience already of supporting lipid management and want to move into managing more complex scenarios.
Objectives
- Understand the structure and function of the lipoprotein and pathophysiology of atherosclerosis
- How to accurately interpret the lipid profile
- Understand treatment guidelines and drug mechanisms
- Monitoring requirements and avoiding ‘lock out’
- Identifying potential cases of rarer dyslipidaemias
- Using risk stratification tools to promote open consultations with patients.

This event is planned because respondents to the Nottinghamshire Alliance Training Hub (NATH) Primary Care Training Needs Analysis (TNA) 2024/25 suggested the topic as a local training need.
