Supporting QoF Series Case-Based Learning – Foundation Lipid Management

This is event is for staff working in Primary Care in Nottingham & Nottinghamshire

Aim of this Event

With CHOL003 and CHOL004 offering a combined 82 QoF points, lipid management if a critical focus for primary care teams and a key part of the NHS long term plan. This session aims to support your learning and move it so that you feel more confident to implement in practice.

Target Audience

All clinicians new to supporting lipid management.

Objectives

• A brief understanding of the lipoprotein and pathophysiology of atherosclerosis
• Understand the lipid profile and pitfalls in interpretation
• Identifying risk factors of CVD
• Evaluate risk and use stratification to have positive patient consultations
• Understand targets for therapy (Primary and secondary) and indications of therapy
• Evaluate non-medical and medical options available for patients
• Build confidence in lipid management in primary care.

The meeting will be broadcast on the MS Teams platform. We recommend participants log on via a computer or laptop for an optimal experience.

This event is planned because respondents to the Nottinghamshire Alliance Training Hub (NATH) Primary Care Training Needs Analysis (TNA) 2024/25 suggested the topic as a local training need.
