About this Event

This training is only for practitioners who work with Lambeth residents. Preference will be given to Lambeth based practitioners.

Trainers: Stonewall Housing

Stonewall Housing works to ensure lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people live in safer homes, free from fear, and where we can celebrate our identity and support each other to achieve our full potential.

This half day course aims to increase confidence of service providers to deliver competent and effective support to LGBT+ people experiencing domestic abuse.

Objectives

The session touches on the following topics:

  • The prevalence and unique dynamics and tactics of domestic abuse as experienced by LGBT+ people
  • Barriers in access to services faced by LGBT+ survivors
  • Approaches services can adopt to deliver LGBT+ affirmative support
  • Useful resources and support
