By the end of the training session, participants will be able to:
- Understand the different types of employment-based exploitation, including unfair working conditions, wage theft, harassment, and modern slavery
- Recognize common signs of exploitation, such as working excessively long hours without adequate pay, threats of deportation or violence, and unsafe working conditions
- Identify and utilize emergency support and reporting resources, including contacting the police, modern slavery helpline, and Crimestoppers
- Access and provide information on legal advice and representation from organizations like Citizens Advice Waltham Forest, ACAS, and London Legal Support Trust
- Support victims of modern slavery through organizations such as Hope for Justice and The Salvation Army Modern Slavery Support
- Connect individuals with employment rights organizations like the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority, Equality Advisory Support Service, and Unite the Union
- Offer mental health and wellbeing support through services like Mind in Waltham Forest, Victim Support, and Samaritans
- Navigate local support services in Waltham Forest, including Waltham Forest Council, Waltham Forest Migrant Action, and Forest Churches Emergency Night Shelter
- Utilize national helplines and support services, such as the National Domestic Abuse Helpline, TUC WorkSmart, and Refugee Council
- Encourage victims to document evidence, seek advice, report abuse, and access support services
