Supporting Young Carers in an Educational Setting- Training (Stockport)
Overview
This training will give you the tools to identify, support and monitor Young Carers in your Educational setting. We look at ways of improving the educational outcomes for Young Carers and on the back of this we look at how you can gain the Young Carers in Education Award. This event is a great opportunity to share ideas and best practice with other Stockport Schools.
Our training is accredited and recognised by Stockport Family, SMBC and Stockport Education Services.
The main aims of the event are to help you have an understanding of;
- Establish a School provision for Young Carers
- What do schools, colleges, sixth forms and universities need to know about Young carers rights
- Importance of whole setting approach and partnership working with local YC service
- Overview of Young Carers in Schools programme.
- How to apply for the National YCIS award
- Steps required for Census reporting
Post-training Event you will get; A certificate for attending, support in establishing a Young Carers provision in your setting, Staff training, 2x assemblies, PSHE/Group workshops for KS2 upwards, 1:1 support and counselling for your Young Carers. We will also have regular meetings to assist with applying for the National Young Carers in Schools.
