At this exclusive showcase, the Peer Action Collective (PAC) will unveil key research findings. Join us to explore the systems and support young people need to stay safe from involvement in violence.
Driven by young people from seven partnerships in England and Wales, PAC has engaged more than 5,500 age 10-25 year olds in research and social action, driving change in their communities. They have been asking bold questions about what truly keeps them and their peers safe from involvement in violence — and what they need from their schools, communities, policy and mental health services.
Join this event to hear directly from these young people as they share their research and uncover how collaboration can create safer communities. From exploring the social context of violence, to mapping the spaces and relationships that shape young people’s everyday safety, every insight is rooted in peer-to-peer conversations, led by young researchers who understand these experiences first-hand.
About the Peer Action Collective
PAC is a ground-breaking network of Peer Researchers, Social Action Leads and Changemakers across seven areas – with groups across England and Wales.
Young people with lived experience of violence find out what needs to happen to make their area a better place to live, and turn these insights into action. From influencing school practises, to improving local mental health services, co-producing violence reduction strategies or supporting more young people into employment – together, PAC teams are hearing young voices on issues that directly affect them.
The programme is funded by the Youth Endowment Fund, the #iwill Fund (a joint investment between The National Lottery Community Fund and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport) and the Co-op. The Young Foundation is the national partner.
