Event description

Description

2016 marks the 50th year in Surbiton Postal Rifle Club's history.  To commemorate the occasion we are inviting members of all other shooting clubs to attend our celebratory Open Shoot on 5th/6th November.  Competitions are available for .22 prone, 3P, LSR, air rifle and air pistol at our comprehensive indoor facility.  All competitions will be run in accordance with the published NSRA rules except where otherwise stated and competitors will be classified according to their entered everages.  The organisers reserve the right to reclassify anyone who unreasonably exceeds their entered average.

Click the Tickets button above to see the various events and squad timings.  Shooters are advised to arrive early in order to check in, collect targets and set up equipment in readiness for the start of the details.  If you wish to shoot multiple events then please ensure that you have chosen squads which do not overlap.

The prizegiving will take place at 16:45 on Sunday, 6th November.

All entries close at noon on 1st November.

Catering - light bites, tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available throughout the weekend. There will also be a dinner on the Saturday evening for which tickets are limited - first come, first served!

Prone - the course of fire is 40 shots at 25yds.  Most squads comprise 4 details where these cards are to be shot consecutively but there are also squads which permit them to be shot as two pairs with a break of 90 minutes in between.  Depending upon the number of entries, there may be up to 5 classes.  Prizes will be awarded in each class as well as to the top scoring lady and junior competitors.

LSR - the course of fire is 40 shots on PL14 targets at 20yds, with unlimited sighters at the beginning. Each detail is to be shot within 10 minutes.  Depending upon the number of entries, there may be up to 3 classes.  Prizes will be awarded in each class as well as to the top scoring lady and junior competitors.

3P 3x20 - the course of fire is 20 shots in each of the prone, standing and kneeling positions. Each prone detail is to be shot within 10 minutes, with the standing and kneeling details extending to 15 minutes.  Due to the limited capacity for this event there will be only one class. 1st and 2nd prizes will be awarded, with a 3rd prize also if there are 6 or more entries.

Air Rifle - the course of fire is 60 shots, with unlimited sighters at the beginning of the competition. Depending upon the number of entries, there may be up to 3 classes for each discipline.  Prizes will be awarded in each class as well as to the top scoring lady and junior competitors.  The ladies competition will be based upon the first 40 shots.

Air Pistol - the course of fire is 60 shots, with unlimited sighters at the beginning of the competition. Depending upon the number of entries, there may be up to 3 classes for each discipline.  Prizes will be awarded in each class as well as to the top scoring lady and junior competitors.  The ladies competition will be based upon the first 40 shots.

Multiple entries - whilst the desire is to have as many competitors as possible we will, subject to space, accept multiple entries from an individual for a specific discipline.  If there is insufficient capacity to accommodate everyone then we will prioritise entries such that more competitors may take part.  In such cases we will regrettably have to decline the multiple entries and will issue refunds accordingly.

Disputes - in the event of a dispute the matter will be dealt with by a jury comprising three members of the SPRC Organising Committee or their nominated deputies.  Their decision will be final.

If you have any questions concerning entries then please don't hesitate to contact the organiser.

As the club is not easy to find and does not have a postal address we will send all competitors details of our location and directions for access.

Data Protection Act 1998 - any personal information entered on this form will be used by the Competition Organisers only for the purposes of preparing entry forms, results lists, event details and other internal purposes. If you wish to view your records, please contact the Competition Organiser.

General enquiries about target shooting or the club - we regret that owing to firearms legislation this event is not open to members of the general public.  However if you would like to find out more about the sport and/or Surbiton Postal Rifle Club then please visit  http://www.surbitonpostalrifleclub.com where we will be only too happy to address any queries that you may have.
