Surf Mentor Training
Overview
Right now, 1 in 5 children in the UK are struggling with their mental health, and 60% aren’t supported by the NHS. Surf Therapy offers a lifeline, helping young people rebuild trust, resilience and self-esteem.
At The Wave Project we are recruiting new Surf Mentors to help us deliver our life-changing Surf Therapy sessions in North Devon. You don't need to be a surfer or have huge experience of working with children and young people to get involved!
Our thorough training, including both 'dry side' theory and practical skills in the water will help you have all the tools you need ready for our Surf Therapy sessions, which we deliver in conjunction with our partner surf schools: Surf South West in Croyde and Westward Waves in Westward Ho!
You will also need to complete a 1.5 hour online training with us, and a DBS check.
