Surf’s up, and the grill’s hot! Join us for the ultimate university beach BBQ and surf session!

Whether you’re a pro surfer or a complete beginner, we’ve got you covered. Bring your friends and appetite for a day of surf, sun, and great food. Don’t miss out!

All equipment, food and wetsuits will be provided.

We will be walking to the surf school together as a group at 12:30am from the Old Firestation -36 Holdenhurst Rd, Bournemouth BH8 8AD

What to bring?

- Swimwear for under your wetsuit (wetsuit provided)

- Towel

- Water and snack

- Sun cream if it is sunny

-Hair ties

- Flip flops or sliders

- Dry clothes to change into after

- Any medication you may need

You MUST be a competent and confident swimmer. Participants are responsible for their own actions and safety throughout the lesson, by purchasing a ticket and attending this event, you are agreeing to this disclaimer. You must remember to bring any medication such as inhalers which you may need. Please let the coordinator know of any allergies before-hand for the BBQ

Due to the nature of this event, it requires a strong ability to swim, as well as the ability to pull yourself up onto the surf board. On top of this we cannot guarantee the the beach itself will be fully accessible meaning this event is not fully accessible, if you are unsure on whether to book this event please contact slakin@bournemouth.ac.uk

Event co-ordination: WhatsApp group chat

By purchasing a ticket to this event, you have consented to ResLifeBU creating a WhatsApp group chat with other participants. This means that we will add your mobile number to the group chat for this event, and therefore, your number will be visible to others in the group. The WhatsApp group will be managed by our events team and used to give you the full details of the event, including any changes. The WhatsApp group will be deleted within 24hrs after the event has taken place, unless students at the event request photos that have been taken –in this case, the group chat will stay live for 7 days, and then deleted. If you do not use WhatsApp, or if you don’t want your mobile number used for this purpose, please do not purchase this ticket through Eventbrite. Instead, email Nturpie@bournemouth.ac.uk to book your ticket. We will then use your email to confirm your space, and update you with any changes to the event, as we do within the WhatsApp group.
