Event description
Surgeons' Hall Museums are looking forward to welcoming you back.

About this event

To help us limit numbers and ensure the museum is a safe and enjoyable environment visitors can make a reservation to visit Surgeons' Hall Museums.

Please note this is just a reservation and tickets will need to be purchased from the museum at the start of your visit. Tickets are £8 for adults and £4.50 for concessions (under 16s, 60+, students, NHS Staff and job seekers). We ask for contactless payment wherever possible. A carer is welcome to accompany a paying disabled visitor without charge.

Due to current Scottish Government advice, group sizes are limited to no more than 6 people from 2 different households. We ask our visitors to please adhere to these restrictions to help stop the spread of the virus.

Keeping our staff and visitors safe is our top priority so we have made the following changes to the museum:

  • Visitors must wear a face mask (unless medically exempt)
  • A one way system will be in operation to guide visitors through the museum to ensure social distancing guidelines are met.
  • Hand sanitising stations for visitors.
  • Increased cleaning of all touch points throughout the museum and toilets.

If you are displaying any symptoms of COVID-19, we kindly ask that you do not come to the museum and we will be happy to welcome you when you are feeling better.

On arrival at the museum, please make your way to the 3rd floor to purchase your tickets.

The time stated on the reservation is an arrival time and does not reflect the duration visitors can spend in the museum. The museum is open from 10am-5pm last entry is at 4.30pm. The last bookable time slot is 3pm-4pm however visitors can enter without a reservation after 4pm. We recommend leaving at least 1 hour to have a look around the museum.

You do not need to print out your confirmation.

Due to the nature of our collection we do not recommend the museum to those under 10.

All levels are accessible by lift. However, there is a portion of the upper gallery in the Wohl Pathology Museum that may not be accessible to wheelchairs wider than 66cm. However there are accessible interactive touch screens which display the items in these restricted sections and we have smaller wheelchairs available for those who are able to transfer.
