The Royal College of Surgeons Careers Afternoon is a wonderful way for medical students to find out more about becoming a surgeon, meet other medical students interested in a career in surgery, and try out some surgical skills & activities. Activities include:
- A panel discussion on the life of a surgeon, from the perspective of trainee surgeons and chaired by a consultant surgeon, as well as building your portfolio from Health Education England, followed by Q&As
- Building your portfolio
- Suturing and knot-tying
- Laparoscopic skills
All participants are provided with a certificate of attendance – a great way to get started on, or build, your portfolio.
