About this event

COURSE INTRODUCTION:

Too often, fractures of the pelvic limb go unoperated. This course gives veterinary practitioners the skills and confidence to conquer seven of the most common orthopedic procedures of the pelvic limb.

Full lectures in video and pdf format will be sent to attendees prior to the course so didactic information is at one’s own pace, and laboratory time maximised. Step-by-Step manuals will guide the practical lab and serve as practice references.

After a brief review, each procedure will be demonstrated by experienced board-certified surgeons. Attendees will perform surgery under careful instructor guidance to broaden capabilities and hone skills in these common orthopedic operations.

Procedures of various degrees of difficulty will be tought:

  1. FHO
  2. Tibial tuberosity avulsions
  3. Tibia fixation with ExFix
  4. Distal femoral salter fractures
  5. Ilium fractures
  6. Femoral fractures
