Event description
The SAHRG seminar series presents work-in-progress by University of Surrey researchers. This season's theme is 'Time'.

About this event

The SAHRG seminar series promotes exciting and supportive exchange between researchers across disciplines. Each season has a theme, and we invite speakers from different subjects to highlight its role in their current research. This season is 'Time', interpreted as, for example, physical, ecological, literary, cultural or emotional time. We'll be exploring everything from fashion to geology, solitude to urbanisation, technology to eternity.

The May seminar features important research into Time as feature of literary perspective and authorial identity

Holly Hallam (Surrey): Tidalectics: The queer temporalities of submergence in the work of Alexis Pauline Gumbs

Louise Wenman-James (Surrey): “I never had anything to do with this’’: Perspective and Time in the Professional Careers of Ella D’Arcy and Vernon Lee

Abstracts

We welcome everyone to join the conversation, and promote collaborations across disciplines. This is the second in the current series on 'Time', which will run throughout 2021. We welcome expressions of interest to speak at the summer seminars.

More information about SAHRG events, our blog, and previous seminars can be found on our website.
