Are you ready to take on an Adventure of a lifetime!

Survive The Wild is an exhilarating and uplifting outdoor experience. Under the watchful eye of our highly-trained experts, participants are encouraged and empowered as they take on a series of Challenges, specially designed to challenge them physically and mentally.


The base for your challenge is Coniston in the Lake District. The group will meet their instructors at Coniston Hall, Coniston, LA21 8AS.

Parking is available at no charge on site.

Should you wish to stay overnight before your challenge, Coniston has numerous hotels and hostels and is relatively close to the venue.


All participants must arrive by 9.00am on Thursday 14th June and will be finished at 3.00pm on Friday 15th June.


Over the course of the challenge, teams will compete at a range of activities to test them both physically and mentally. Activities include:

  • Grade 1-2 scrambling

  • Abseiling

  • A Tyrolean/Zip Wire

  • Ghyll scrambling

  • Trekking

  • Canyoning

  • Water Jumps

  • Tunnels

  • Problem Solving

  • The food taste test

NB: No participant has to undertake any activity they do not wish to do so. The instructors however, will encourage every person to take part.


A packed lunch is required by each participant. All other meals will be provided. A minimum of 1.5 litres of water should be brought.


Dan Searson is the Challenge co-ordinator and can be contacted for emergencies at all times during the challenge. All other instructors carry mobile phones and radios and can be contacted by the challenge co-ordinators if necessary.

You will be required to bring the following;

  • Day-sized rucksack for the walk (approx. 25 litres)

  • Pre-worn Walking Boots/ sturdy trainers

  • Waterproof jacket and trousers (even if the forecast is good)

  • Walking clothes (NO jeans please, these just get sweaty if hot or soaked if it rains. We also recommend you avoid wearing cotton shirts or tops as these can also be uncomfortable when sweaty or wet. We recommend if you can that you wear synthetic walking trousers/leggings and non-cotton tops).

  • Spare Warm clothes, hat and gloves (the weather can be very different on the summit than down in the valley)

  • Packed lunch

  • Water bottle (you will need to carry a minimum of 1.5 litres)

  • First Aid Kit (personal first aid kit and medication, including compeed blister plasters). NB: All instructors are First Aid qualified but CANNOT administer potions and pills by law.


  • Sleeping Bag

  • Sleeping Mat

  • Spare Clothes

  • Wet Clothes – pack something you can wear for getting wet including an old pair of trainers


All activities are risk assessed and further details can be provided on request. All participants are covered under our Public Liability Insurance whilst taking part in the challenge.
