During this event we will hear from Laughology – a company that that works with children and adults to define or change learned behaviors and inspire true inner happiness. Laughology teaches skills, based on neuroscience and psychology, needed to stay positive, motivated and to believe in your ability, using resources designed for and by businesses, teachers and children. Themes that will be explored include: confidence, achievement & success, positive relationships, support and coping skills.
We will also hear from Dr. Nerina Ramlakhan who is the go-to person when you want to learn how to sleep and well. Dr. Nerina regularly appears on TV and talks about the power of sleep and how it can transform you as a person and significantly impact your health. Dr. Nerina will explore the changes we can make to transform our sleep amidst a world of 24/7 technology and competitive demands. She will also explore why some people seem to be able to create a good balance in their lives – they are healthy, happy, optimistic, make time for relationships and sustain a good level of wellbeing and how the answer is nothing to do with age, gender, worth or type of work they do but instead, about making conscious decisions that bolster them against life’s hurdles.
Stephanie Davis, CEO – Laughology - Company founder, CEO and award-winning comedian Stephanie, is recognised as one of the UK’s leading voices in the psychology of happiness, humour and laughter. In the past 15 years she has worked on innovative projects and events in the private and public sector and forged relationships with some of the world’s top blue chip companies. Her qualifications include an M.A in The psychology of humour and laughter for personal growth and she is a Graduate of The Health Care Intensive Programme run by Patch Adams MD in the USA and a graduate of Dr Madan Kataria’s Laughter Techniques Programme. She is qualified in cognitive behavioural psychology and health psychology and has a great knowledge of neuroscience.
Stephanie regularly contributes to popular television programmes regular on BBC Radio and a best-selling author.
Nerina Ramlakhan, Physiologist, Sleep and Stress management expert – Nightingale Hospital - Dr Nerina Ramlakhan is a physiologist, sleep and stress management expert who works to improve people’s sleep quality and energy levels. She helps everyone from burnt-out City workers including individuals from the legal community, stressed-out mums, Premiership footballers and MPs. Nerina runs sleep and wellness programmes at the Nightingale Hospital and is the author of Tired but Wired. She completed her doctorate in physiology at King’s College London, a postdoctoral fellowship at University College London and is currently a Research Fellow at Ashridge Business School. Nerina has a strong belief that everyone can live a healthy and more fulfilling life by tapping into and nurturing their deepest inner resources – even in these hectic times that we live in. Nerina regularly appears on TV, with her most recent appearance on This Morning.
Lord Lisvane - Former Clerk of the House of Commons - Educated at Tonbridge and Lincoln College, Oxford, Robert Rogers joined the House of Commons as an Assistant Clerk in 1972. During his career, he was involved in every aspect of the House’s business, including appointments as Clerk of Private Members’ Bills and Clerk of the Defence Select Committee. He was Clerk of Legislation 2006-09, Clerk Assistant 2009-11, and Clerk of the House and Chief Executive of the House Service 2011-14. He was knighted in 2012. He was elected an Hon Fellow of Lincoln College, Oxford, in 2013. Following his elevation as a Life Peer in 2014, Lord Lisvane became a parliamentarian sitting on the crossbenches in the House of Lords. Lord Lisvane will moderate the event.
