  • Do you know how to navigate a buffet and select food that you’ll enjoy eating, and which won’t blow your diet?
  • Are you curious about the psychology and biology of eating and appetite?

This Appetite Retraining evening will show you a different way to eat at group social situations so you can really enjoy the food and the occasion. If you’re watching your weight I'll show you how to do this without gaining weight.

Buffets are difficult when you’re trying to eat healthily

The buffet contains many unique pressures. Putting together a meal for yourself from a random selection of food, whilst holding a conversation in a queue, is not easy to do! Ending up with a plateful of unidentifiable bits in batter, a sausage roll, a sandwich that contains something unexpected, and a lettuce leaf is not fun. But you eat it, because you’ve chosen it, and because people are watching you, but it doesn’t make you happy.

Having to help yourself from a huge table of food can be really tricky when you’re trying to watch your weight. So often the buffet table is laden with carbs, fats and sugar. Your only choice seems to be to eat food you’d normally avoid, so you pile your plate up, eat too much and feel guilty the next day.

Even if you’re not trying to lose weight, the ‘all you can eat’ buffet can be stressful rather than fun. When faced with a spread of delicious food you feel compelled to eat much more than you want so that you get your money’s worth, and that doesn’t make you feel good.

Imagine if you could navigate the buffet with ease, have the knowledge and confidence to select food you actually want to eat, eat as much of it as you really wanted, enjoy every mouthful, and come away feeling satisfied and happy.

That’s the aim of "Surviving the Buffet"

You’ll learn the techniques and gain the understandings you need to not only survive the buffet without blowing your diet, but to take the stress out of the whole experience.

During the evening you’ll learn valuable techniques and learn a new way of approaching eating at buffets while enjoying a fabulous buffet style meal in a top restaurant.
