Event description
A FREE conference to share good practice from the Surviving to Thriving project and the experiences of separated children in the UK

About this Event

Through support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery, The British Red Cross, Refugee Council and UpRising have been working together for the past two years to provide young refugees and asylum seekers with life and leadership skills, advice, and mental health support to rebuild their lives and thrive in the UK. The project has directly supported 588 children and young people, and delivered training to 629 professionals.

Tailored specifically to social workers, the conference explains how the holistic delivery model of the partnership has helped address the issues and challenges faced by the young people supported. The day provides an opportunity for professionals working with these young people to engage with the key issues that affect them, and to develop an understanding of how holistically focused practice can help to support them to overcome challenges and thrive.

The conference features two keynote talks and a variety of workshops; a hot and cold buffet lunch is provided, as well as tea/coffee during the day. There is a networking event with wine and nibbles at the close of the conference.

The conference is from 9.30am-4.30pm; the networking event is from 4.30-5.30pm.

Delegates will need to register the following:

  • Attendance at the conference
  • 2 workshop sessions
  • Attendance at the wine and nibbles networking event
