Frequently asked questions
Yes. At this stage our support group is only open to over 18 year olds. But if you are under 18 and need help and support with cultic or spiritual abuse, please reach out to us either via DMs or email info@survivinguniversaluk.org.
The sessions will be run by Surviving Universal UK founder and director, Rachael Reign. As well as having lived experiences of cultic and spiritual abuse, she has supported hundreds of victims and survivors via the movement. Rachael is fully trained in safeguarding and crisis intervention.
Absolutely not. As a trauma and cultic informed organisation, we understand the importance of self agency. How often you drop in, will never be questioned. Even if you start a session and want to leave at any point, that is fine with us. The most important thing is for you to be empowered.
The support group has a very relaxed approached. They will began with introductions where we can establish who we are holding space with. Then we will move onto the core aim of that meeting. It could be anything from talking about attachment theory, learning tools to cope with triggers...
Not if you don't want to. There will always be space for speaking and sharing, but only when/if you feel ready. No one will be put on the spot. You will however be asked to keep your camara on and introduce your name to the group at the start. After that, participation is completely up to you.
Yes! We ask that you respect the other attendees and ensure that you attend the meeting in a quiet space with no one else around. In order for the space to be a safe one, we rely on everyone to comply and help us maintain the privacy of the group.
