Rachel's Kitchen cookery classes are hands-on lessons where you'll learn cookery skills, while rolling up your sleeves and getting involved!


--- Sushi Making Masterclass ---

In this Sushi Masterclass, we’ll make food that will introduce fun, new ingredients, leaving you inspired and able to make sushi at home and with friends.

We’ll be chopping up fresh vegetables and using delicious raw and cooked fish to make Maki rolls, Inside out rolls, Hand rolls, Nigiri sushi and Hosomaki.

You’ll nibble on edamame while you learn  and put into practice all the skills to make your own sushi.

Then you’ll have a chance to relax and eat a meal, enjoying all the sushi you’ve made, along with some sake and wine, followed by Japanese ice cream.

Time: 12.30-3.30pm

Venue: Rachel’s Kitchen, East Finchley

Cost: £85 including class, meal and wine


In this class, we’ll be cooking up flavoursome food from the Middle East, using tahini paste, pomegranate molasses, fragrant orange blossom water, barberries and more delicious ingredients to conjure up the warmth and sunshine of the region.


Dishes include Pomegranate Beef, Persian Crispy Rice with Barberries and Tahdig, Labneh and Za'atar Roasted Squash Salad, with Zhoug Spiced Tahini Shortbreads and more.


We’ll cook together, before sitting down to a delicious meal, and you’ll leave with plenty of inspiration for cooking Middle Eastern feasts at home.

Rachel's Kitchen

With a degree in Theology and no culinary ability whatsoever, Rachel's passion for cooking started while on VSO in Zambia. Having never cooked before, she was forced to rethink her life in a village with no supermarket. 

So, she started baking her own bread, making granita using lemons from her garden, and the rest, as they say, is history.

After graduating in Cuisine and Patisserie from Le Cordon Bleu, Rachel went on to work with some of London's most inspiring chefs at Galvin Bistro de Luxe in Baker Street, and Lanka Patisserie in Primrose Hill.

In June 2010 Rachel started Rachel’s Kitchen as a way to share her passion for great food using quality ingredients.

She has since taught thousands of people the confidence to create delicious dishes in the kitchen, and was delighted that Rachel's Kitchen was awarded a Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence in 2016.

With her relaxed approach, fun teaching style and hearty flavours, Rachel has become the chef of choice for both private and corporate clients, and for brushing up on your cooking skills whilst smiling at the same time.
