Description

'Protecting Your Collections'

Friday 31st January 2020, Arundel Museum

Museums are hubs of knowlegde, community and history, but we would be nothing without our incredible and fascinating collections. Those collections need to be cared for and loved in a myriad of different ways.

In this session we will look at some of the ways you can care for and protect your own unique collections, from monitoring their environment and keeping them safe from pesky pests, to looking after your beloved books and libraries. We will hear about how crime can affect museums and what we can do about it, as well as how to engage the public with essential collections care work that goes on behind the scenes through exhibitions and displays.

We will be hearing from a fantastic array of speakers from Littlehampton Museum, the National Trust, Worthing Museum and Art Gallery and Sussex Police. There will also be the opportunity to have short 1-2-1 sessions with Fry and Spencer on any pest management issues you have. Please contact the secretary Portia Tremlett on ptremlett@chichester.gov.uk to register your interest for these.

Lunch will be provided.
