We are Sabrina & Aiden (plus the small blonde one who is our daughter Melrose)!
I (Sabrina) am a London PA by career with a love of events work and music in general. Aiden has been a musician all his life and gigged around Sussex for the last few years.
Having spent a most of the last 4 years around excellent local bands the idea of a Festival to showcase them had been in the back of my mind for some time.
The Sussex (Rock) Music Festival was born in early 2016 after a relatively random email gave us the venue we’d been looking for! We have to thank Chris Jones & Copthorne Prep profusely – we could not have asked for more accommodating or willing hosts!
The Festival concept evolved to be a family festival supporting charity as we feel inclusion is great.
The bands who played, some known to us already, some new to us all donated their time and skill without any charge with great enthusiasm! 2016’s charity, whom we raised £428.12 was Cancer Research.
The Festival went off amazingly well and we’ve very grateful for all the wonderful feedback we’ve had from both people involved, musicians and the public that came.
2017 is onwards and upwards. We’ve been floored by the amount of talented musicians who would like to be part of what will hence forth be known as SMF – The Sussex Music Festival and we had lots of exciting plans.
2017 will be supporting The British Heart Foundation and St Catherine's Hospice, Crawley as chosen by our supporters. A main stage with 10 superb acts plus an acoustic tent overflowing with talent in association with Hospital Radio Crawley LIVE MUSIC
Our 2017 Main Stage line up is truly epic and will be joined by some very special acts in the acoustic tent which is being announced very soon!
Thank you once again for your support – it is very much appreciated!
