Come join us for a heartwarming evening of community, connection, and colourful shared plates at One Church Brighton, Gloucester Place.
What better way to respond to divisive times than by eating communally? Let’s gather around the dinner table, share stories, and enjoy delicious food. This event is all about fostering connection and celebrating the spirit of togetherness.
Your ‘meal deal’ ticket includes a hot, delicious, vegetarian two-course meal plus a bonus botanical (non-alcoholic) beverage. Children under 14 eat free.
We’re also offering guests the chance to Pay It Forward (PIF) by purchasing additional meals for people who may be prevented from attending due to the price (we don't have grant funding to run this pilot). These meals will be distributed by invitation via trusted community groups in Brighton. Sussex Surplus have been cooking community meals in East Brighton since pandemic days and we've built up a wealth of event catering experince. This autumn, inspired by communal dining projects like The Long Table in Stroud and Absalon in Copenhagen, we're experimenting with social dining by hosting three meals to test the concept here in Brighton. Future meals will be November 12 and December 3rd.
