Sustainability Gathering for Calderdale (in person event)

Our intention for the event on the 12th of May is to gather folk who we know to be committed to living a greener and ethical life. People who we know are already actively involved environmental and community projects, aswell as those who would like to be more involved.

As part of the event we will be inviting people to join a Co Design conversation regarding future Sustainability events in Calderdale.

During this event we are holding on the 12th of May we would like to explore the following questions with the people who attend;

1, Would further events help to build momentum and progress to a more sustainable life in Calderdale? If what would these be about and what would they look like?

2, What do you care about in regard to sustainabe living?

2, What skills, knowledge and experience would you like to share to support the development of sustainable living?

3, Would you like to be involved moving forward, and if so how would you like to be involved?

This in-person event will be held at Aarrrons Campsite, in Cragg Vale.

At the launch we will tour Aarrons campsite to be able to see the potential the site has to offer for future events.

During the event on the 12th of May there will be opportunities to share your knowledge and skills in developing and offering sustainable solutions, community cohesion or your craft. This can include;

  • Delivering a talk that relates to sustainable and ethical living
  • Delivering a workshops on approaches that supports sustainability and ethical living
  • Delivering craft and skill demonstrations
  • Running a stall sell ethical / sustainable goods and products i.e. upcycling, foraged goods

or anything else that you believe would contribute to the aim of the day.

Please email lizleachmurphy@gmail.com if you would like to contribute and Liz will contact you to chat about this.

We are also looking for people who would like to help out on the day - let Liz know if you are able to lend and hand.

The agenda is open to change as the event shapes up - we will keep anyone who has registered on Eventbrite up to date of any changes.

We will have food available from the wonderful Vegan chef, Isolde of Artichoke - based in Sowerby Bridge, with a pay as you feel request and a licensed bar will be open in the evening - tickets will need to be booked on eventbrite for those wishing to be fed.

the day will conclude with some music fun and a jam session where everyone can join in and enjoy an end of event party.

There is the option to stay overnight at the campsite (£15pp)

Please feel free to come to part of the event, you do not have to come to the whole day.

Hopefully, see you there!

There is a bus the comes past the site from Sowerby Bridge - Bus Number 577 from outside Tescos supermarket on Sowerby New Road

Parking is available at the site, turn the first right after the campsite entrance and then turn first right into the car park. Follow the path that leads to the campsite centre where you will find the toilets, cafe and bar.
