The Centre for Doctoral Training in Sustainable Infrastructure Systems Annual Conference
“Sustainability in Action”
Wednesday 02 November 2016
The Centre for Doctoral Training in Sustainable Infrastructure Systems is delighted to be hosting its annual conference at the University of Southampton on the theme of Sustainability in Action.
This year we have opened up the call for abstracts across the entirety of the UK’s CDT cluster cohorts under the three main themes of Water, Energy and Transport.
The aim of the conference is to provide a forum in which PhD researchers, leading academics and industrial partners can come together to present current research and engage in active discussion on sustainability.
There will be research presentations and posters from a number of CDT and EngD students from different universities around the country. In addition there will be talks from leading academics and industrialists from across the water, energy, transport and infrastructure sectors.
So far confirmed invited section theme speakers include Dr. Alan Stevens (UK Transport Research Laboratory) for transport, and Prof. Patrick James (University of Southampton) for energy.
The day will include lunchtime recruitment stalls open to undergraduates and masters students from current industry partners involved in research funding including;
“Jaguar Land Rover,” “UK Transport Research Laboratory”, “Aquatic Health, Technology & Innovation Group”, “Environment Agency”, “RSSB” and more.
A catered lunch will be provided and prizes for the best talk and poster from each discipline on the day are to be awarded at the end of the conference over social drinks.
