Sustainability in the Spotlight: Leading & Developing Sustainability in your School
About this event
Despite decades of campaigning, dozens of international conferences and literally hundreds of government reports, the environmental crisis, rather than being halted, goes on getting worse.
Whilst education cannot solve current problems it has an important role to play in helping to forge new ways of thinking and developing new approaches which will be essential in the years to come.
In this webinar, Dr Stephen Scoffham draws on his recent book, Sustainability Education: A Classroom Guide to outline how schools can start to bring about this transformation by incorporating sustainability perspectives into their existing curricula.
There will be suggestions for practical activities suitable for different age ranges across all subject areas as well as a focus on key principles and concepts. Navigating the complexities of sustainability education is an exciting but urgent challenge.
Come and find out more about how you might set about it.
Dr Stephen Scoffham is a Visiting Reader in Sustainability and Education at Canterbury Christ Church University, UK. He was President of the Geographical Association (2018-19) and is well-known as an author/consultant for Collins school atlases.
