Event description
Is Sustainable Fashion an Oxymoron? Can I look better and buy less? These are 2 of the questions we'll attempt to answer.

About this Event

Sustainable Fashion Consultant, Audrey Blancart of Good Looping, will explain some of the hard graft that goes into reducing the environmental impact of fashion - whether it's the manufacture of materials, dyeing processes, volume of inputs, transportation...... knowing where to start is an art in itself.

Personal stylist, Sarah van Dort will be sharing some of her magic. Her approach, is to show her clients how to buy the perfect item first time that will harmonise with their colouring, flatter their body shape and fit in with their personality. That means they can buy clothes that last for years and not just for one season. Sarah is a big fan of ‘pre-loved’ fashion too

Weddings these days have moved on and so has Beth Paton of Madame B's Boutique

She is committed to finding more ways to use upcycled and ethically sourced materials in her work, aiming to eventually achieve 100% sustainability.

So she now offers an upcycling service as well as her made to order and bespoke designs. Madame B's Makeovers offers the chance to breathe new life into old favourites. Perhaps a spectacular hat that’s losing its shape, or your Mum's wedding veil that’s just a little bit too 1970s?

This service can encompass anything from a little repair and refresh, to a full redesign of the item. Beth will have a few items with interesting stories behind them to show - but not the hat in the picture, that's gone to a very special wedding!
