About the Venue – A Historic & Inspiring Setting

St Peter’s Church in Abbots Morton, Worcestershire, is a special location for our Floral Installation Masterclass. With a history dating back to the Saxon period, this charming medieval church provides a pretty backdrop for large-scale floral designs.

Historical: The site has been a place of worship since Saxon times, with the first recorded church standing here before the Norman conquest. Mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, the village of Abbots Morton was once owned by Evesham Abbey, whose abbots used it as a peaceful country retreat. The church itself has evolved over centuries, with its 12th-century north wall, a 14th-century chancel and Lady Chapel, and 15th-century exposed roof beams. The beautifully crafted south doorway and new oak gates reflect the care taken in preserving this special church.

I'm Ashley, owner of Ash Tree Floral Designs, a quirky and creative bespoke wedding and events floristry business based at Old Print Works in Birmingham.

My background in art and design means I am always searching for something visually unique and different. I am in love with flowers and find nature infinitely amazing and inspiring. My work is always a visually striking and makes a statement. My styling is a little wild and relaxed but always beautiful and contemporary.

I create my designs using a combination of British flowers, high quality imported flowers from Holland and a selection of homegrown blooms.

Working closely with a local flower grower has made me appreciate how special British flowers are and has fuelled a new passion and appreciation of sustainable floristry techniques. My goal is to always promote British seasonal flowers wherever possible.

I work from my studio at the Old Print Works, Balsall Heath, Birmingham. I am midlands born and bred and currently live in Kings Heath with my Husband Evan and my cat Peggy.

Along side my wedding florals work I offer a wide range of regular seasonal flower-arranging workshops at various venues around Birmingham. My workshops are relaxed, fun and creative, filled with lots of handy tips, tricks and techniques to help my participants create beautiful floral designs to take home and enjoy.

Floristry workshops aren’t just about learning a new skill, arranging flowers is also extremely calming and therapeutic. Scientific studies also suggest that just looking at flowers instantly lifts your mood and improves your mental health- so what’s not to love?!

Flower arranging workshops make lovely gifts and are also a perfect hen party or birthday party idea!

You don't need any floristry experience to join one of my workshops just bring your lovely self and maybe a couple of friends too!
