Event Details

Sustainable Food for Greater Manchester

Women in Sustainability (WINS) exists to create a community of courageous women who want to use their voice to build a sustainable world.

Food is at the heart of our lives, and yet the food system is far from healthy - for us, for our children or for the planet. Come and join us and hear from two inspirational women leaders in the field of sustainable food.

By joining us at this event you will:

- learn about the current broken food system - from agriculture to food poverty, from biodiversity to food waste

- be inspired by what a sustainable and fair food system could look like; and

- decide on what you can do at an individual and organisational level within your work or business.

As ever there will be the space and opportunity to network and share experiences with colleagues in the wider sustainability community. There will also be the opportunity for delegates to update the group on news and events.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Joining us as our speakers for this event are:

Corin Bell who is the Founder and Director of waste food socal enterprise Open Kitchen MCR (formerly Real Junk Food Manchester) - and Helen Woodcock who co-founded Kindling Trust which works with communities, farmers, activists and policy makers, to use food as a catalyst for environmental and social change.

Our Sponsors for this event, Crowe UK Manchester, are kindly providing refreshments. Light vegan food will be available. If you have other specific dietary requirements, please contact the organiser when you book your ticket.

We of course encourage active travel! Please note that there is no parking available on site - the Crowe office is centrally located on Mount Street, a 3 minute walk from St Peter's Square metro station, and also less than a 1 mile walk from Piccadilly, Oxford Road and Manchester Victoria train stations.
